About BlueBear L.E.S.

Background

BlueBear Law Enforcement Services is a private Canadian company focused on solutions in the fight against Child Exploitation. Our objective is to design and develop software that gives law enforcement and justice communities the solutions they need to do their jobs effectively, efficiently and successfully.

History

In July 2007, certain assets of BlueBear, Inc. , a Wyoming company, were acquired by BlueBear L.E.S. Inc. in exchange for shares. A licensing agreement on the base technology, as well as worldwide rights on the products LACE and IDLE, was concluded between VisionSphere Technologies Inc. and the new corporation.

The new company's R&D facilities were moved to the University of Québec in Outaouais in the city of Gatineau, Québec, Canada, allowing BlueBear to work with top researchers in the field of image matching and image categorization. A new management team as well as new investors have since joined BlueBear Law Enforcement Services with the vision of making it the world leader solution in the fight against Child Exploitation.

Our mission

BlueBear’s technology was created because of demand from Law Enforcement agencies for forensic tools that would automate and assist in the expedient processing of trial cases. With this in mind, BlueBear provides a suite of tools for use by Law Enforcement specific to Child Exploitation cases and the identification of individuals associated with these and other cases. BlueBear’s flagship product is called LACE (“Law Enforcement Against Child Exploitation”)

LACE is a unique tool designed to assist investigators in the automated categorization of media-evidence files (images) that have been seized during the arrest of a suspected pedophile. This unique tool has been created to significantly reduce the amount of time required, by an investigator, to analyze and categorize seized images found on computer hard drives in child exploitation cases. At times the number of case media-evidence files that require review and categorization can be in the hundreds of thousands which can take a child abuse investigator months to analyze. With the implementation of LACE this process is reduced to days. A face identification tool built into LACE further permits police investigators to instantly locate similar faces across different cases.

Our vision

The Company’s direction is to design and develop, automated, biometric and image matching solutions, i.e., integrating biometrics and image recognition with information search and sharing technology, to fight against Child Exploitation and to assist in the Criminal identification process.
